Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GrowBook mobile application (the "App"), operated by Shanghai Yuntai Information Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

GrowBook is a plant care tracking application that helps you manage your plants, care schedules, observations, and related data. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
• You are responsible for any data you create and store in the App.
• You may not misuse the App, attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or interfere with its normal operation.

2. Accounts

You can use core features of the App without an account. Creating an account (using your email address) enables Cloud Sync and other features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your account and all associated cloud data and cannot be undone.

3. Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal

GrowBook offers an optional premium subscription ("Premium") that unlocks additional features such as Cloud Sync, Family Sharing, Analytics, Propagation Tracking, Room Tags, Light Meter, and Calendar.

• Billing: Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or yearly basis. Payment is charged to your Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings (Google Play Store → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Premium access until then.
• Refunds: Payments are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's refund policies. We do not directly process refunds.
• Price changes: We may change subscription prices. Any price change will apply to future billing periods and you will be notified in accordance with Google Play's policies.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Please cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store separately to avoid further charges.

4. Premium Features and Family Sharing

Premium features are available while your subscription is active. Family Sharing allows you to share plant data with family members you explicitly invite. You are responsible for the people you invite and the data you choose to share with them.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all data and content you create in the App (plant names, photos, notes, etc.). By using Cloud Sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the sync and sharing features you enable. We do not sell or use your content for advertising.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and the "GrowBook" name, is the property of Shanghai Yuntai Information Technology Co., Ltd. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the App except as permitted by law.

7. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Plant care information and reminders are provided for convenience only and are not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts located in Shanghai.
